I won't be buying the book, but might have a read in the paper.
It must be heartbreaking for a parent, not knowing what has happened to your child.

No, we won't be reading it either.

There has always been something about this tragic case that just does not ring true. As then, I still believe now the answer is closer to home.

I won't be reading either - not because I have any animosity towards the parents. but I have my own opinion on the disappearance of Maddie and do not want to read the sad story.

Mrs McCann has said she is convinced that Maddie is alive and wants to keep her in the minds of the public so at least in this respect the book will help and the money from the sale will maintain the fund to enable further publicity.

Hopefully the publicity will also highlight the dangers for all children who are targetted by those members of the public who wish to do them harm.

I think she's not with us any more sadly.

When we in the UK have similar happening the police seal off the whole area and bins searched.
But as I remember it was not done at the crime Area where Maddie was abducted and all the bins were empty' d the next day...... big mistake !! as I see it ...... my reason for thinking she has gone ....poor kid. <3

I often think of her as I too have a precious grand daughter Maddie's age.

It would crack me up if I read the book ...

I wont be reading either

If the book makes money for Maddies fund search, or the McCanns pockets is neither here nor there. As long as its not publicised with the intention to swell funds then used elsewhere I see no problem. If people want to read it, it should be because they are interested in the contents, not the money made.

As always when this subject arises, Madeline is firstly in my thoughts.
I personally think shes dead. Once that Identifying eye pattern was released, it was going to be impossible to disguise that child like you could another.

I hope I'm wrong.

I do feel for the parents. They have no closure. By writing the book & continuing their campaign, its their way of keeping her memory alive.

Some parents who lose their children due to illness or accident tend to keep memories alive by fundraising for charities, or by raising awareness to the subject which caused their childs death. The McCanns are just doing it their way. <3

i agree with Dizzy, mayby she should write it and keep it for her daughters return if she believes her to be alive, i think its sad taste or is therer something we have not been told like the funds of the sale is to search for maddy.

I don't really see the point in reading the book etc, we all know how Madeleine came to be missing, or at least know she was left alone and disappeared. We also are able to imagine the awful sadness of that little girl as she was taken from her family and can only hope she has found some degree of happiness and peace in her little life, and is not being harmed in any way, except to be kept from her real family.

I don't think there's a person on earth that wouldn't agree with that sentiment Wend. But Madeleine is the victim here over and above anyone else whatever the outcome...bless her x

Wend Report 8 May 2011 00:05

Oh, I do hope not, Muffy. I pray that she is being well cared for and will one day be reunited with her parents and siblings. x

Muffyxx Report 7 May 2011 23:52

More of a nightmare for poor Madeleine I'd have thought Wend? x

Wend

Wend Report 7 May 2011 23:46

Makes me feel sad, Muffy, when I think of my 2 daughters at that age and how lucky I was to have them safely with me. Must be an ongoing nightmare for the poor McCanns.

I can understand why Kate McCann might find writing the book therapeutic, and I wish her well. However, I don't intend reading it myself.

Muffyxx

Muffyxx Report 7 May 2011 23:33

Yes she's days older than my youngest who turns 8 later this month. x

Wend Report 7 May 2011 23:31

Madeleine is 8 years old now (if she's still alive, and let's hope she is.) Jenni Murray is doing an interview with Kate McCann on Radio 4 this Thursday, which I shall listen to.

Muffyxx

Muffyxx Report 7 May 2011 23:24

Will you be buying it or reading the serialisation in the papers?

I shall be doing neither..though I think of poor Madeleine often x
