It seems like the view counter counts the No: of people who have viewed, not the individual views.

Thanks for that Dermot, I needed a reminder just now! :-)

Don't worry about how many people view or not........most other genealogy sites use this system.

It really just shows how many people have looked at a thread but haven't wanted to add to it for whatever reason.

I quite often browse through threads but, if I have nothing to add which is helpful or pertinent, I move on.

Maybe I should have said 'nosing' through threads though :D

You have hit the nail on the head..

I posted a thread earlier and 22 people have viewed it but not one reply...

Ahh well never mind...

Mint is rampant in the garden, but when I went to 'steal' it from dads garden it had mysteriously disappeared.. perhaps it knew I was coming ;-)

Pity you are not closer - have Mint all over the place even amongst front garden flowers which all came from my ma's garden, together with 'her' blooms, after all Mint has lovely flowers later in the year. For culinary use I have two tubs of mint by the back door. Planted out Runner Beans today and hope they grow up their sticks before the slugs find them!

I will probably pot it Allan, I used to have a large clump of it before we moved, but that was a much bigger garden so it didn't matter. Wish i had been able to bring more of my plants with me, but am pretty much starting again.

I read somewhere once that you are not supposed to buy mint - you are supposed to steal it from someone else's garden! But I suppose if it has taken over that garden (see Allan's post) that the owner would be grateful.

Jill (who is very unsure re the reading/posting ratio)

Hi J* :-)

The iris are lovely, I've been so glad of the rain, having broken one digger already on rock solid ground trying to get buttercups out and seeds in lol. What's in is growing well though, i am going to hunt for a mint plant this week so we can have it with the potatoes when they're ready.

Hello RR - how bored we would have all been this weekend without the challenging board changes to keep us on our toes!

I took the Iris blooms photo in my garden yesterday morning and had to have help getting it on here!

don't get too worried that more people are viewing than are replying

when you post a thread that is automaically 1 view...I assume that each time you go off it to look elsewhere and the return to it that is another view,

so i may return 3 times to answer 3 replies and that would add up to 7 views ( my 4 + 3 replies) ...I think lol
