Geneology shorthand

I consider myself a beginner at family history only having been 'at it' for about 9 months now. However, I find in that time that I've developed a kind of shorthand to make note taking etc easy and quicker.
I know there are accepted abreviations in this field but it would be interesting to hear from others how they have developed their notetaking over a period of time. I find it can vary from occupations, status, place names and all sorts of other things. I guess that each person would have an individual style as their place names may be around an area that they are more familiar with.
Just interested, wouldn't want anyone to get stuffy or go overboard at my passing thoughts.

Best wishes to you all (and grateful thanks to members that have helped me so much over the time)

I just took note of terms used by more experienced researchers when they posted replies to look ups. Got to know things like mmn meant mothers maiden name etc.

It took me some time to transfer from being a green searcher & not knowing what they were doing!! to being a bit more practised and able to help others.

The more into researching you do the more the old grey cells store things you read.
