Last year I planted a grape vine, which I assumed would die in the winter, in an old sink in the garden. It is going like the clappers now so I suppose it will have to come out. |

I'm 50 Sandie. I must admit when we upgraded to the colour telly it was a 16" portable. We only got a 'normal' size set in the past couple of years - I got cable installed when he was stuck in hospital for two weeks lol! |

OOOERR, I had a wash board to start with 1978 no mangle, then when we had a bit of money I had a single tub with the wheel at the side so the clothes got tangled and we bought a spin drier, then in 1982 I had my first new washing machine and it was an automatic. It sounds like the dark ages doesn't it? |

Not even that far back chris. I didn't have a washing machine at all until 1970ish (married in 1960) and then it was a twin tub. Quite a while after that I had an automatic, about 1979 and had the dish washer about the same time. |

yes but if we had washing machines ect in those days the servants would have operated them not us so what we need is servants to operate all those things for us now lol |

Little wonder my head hurts, anyway I googled some of the addresses my family lived in in the late 1800s and early 1900s they are quite grand, cellars, attics, they were business people and had servants, which made me think we all have "servants" these days washing machines, dish washers, lawn mowers and the like, we don't have such big houses though, what do you all reckon?? |
