to a certain woolly mammal not seen in these parts for a while?

One of my favourite exchanges of all time, sadly deleted at evening's end.

I'd briefly adopted a pseudonym here for a bit of fun having to do with something else altogether (a song by No.2, if you must know), when I spotted the following exchange and had to jump in.

Errol the Sheep: Where's so-and-so gone?
Some poster or other: She's probably gone for a Brazilian.
Errol the Sheep: What's a Brazilian?
Amazon Woman: I'm a Brazilian. Stupid sheep.

I think we should take up a collection to get him back.

He could:

EXPLAIN to GenesReunited how to fix the code on these boards instead of
ABDICATING their responsibility and forcing this ridiculous
EXPERIENCE on us.

(Again, if you're using some old IE browser, my apologies that you aren't getting the jokes!)

Oh lookeee you have the little yellow bugs as well.
I tried BDM. You know the abbreviation for birth, deaths and marriages.

Does this mean every time I type BDM I get the bowl of porridge.

It is a bowl of porridge. Look at it. White bowl with line around the middle and two wafts of steam rising from the mound of porridge, or soup.
BDM BDM BDM BDM

As for Errol: you would think a sheep would know what a Brazilian was!!

Yes its BDM

There must be an abbreviation Janey uses when posting on threads.

Even back two years ago there are little yellow bugs on my thread where she has posted a reply.

Well, I showed the Sheep my thread about the emoticons:

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards.page/board/suggestions/thread/1268273

phew, I remembered to add a space -- space bar -- after the colon in that first line or it would have looked like this:

Yes, that's the code I use in most of my posts -- I say things like:

Here is the family in the 1851 census:

but because nobody, me included, would put a space after that colon, it looks like this:

Here is the family in the 1851 census:

and that is what it looks like in every post I have said things like that in, in the last four years. And every post where anyone else has typed or pasted a colon followed by a line break (new paragraph).

Anyhow, he said that was amusing, and he did use to enjoy helping people with their computer problems. But it seems he's in no rush to rejoin us ... :(
