Has anyone else had this?

How did you work your painkillers?

This is my third day,and its more painful.

( i am 63, a drunk man passed me in the street and decided to elbow me in the ribs. i was part of a street pastor team,in nottingham at 2am on saturday night)

I (blushes) broke my lower rib coughing/sneezing when I had flu!
I didn't realise what had happened, but went to the docs after the flu had gone, thinking I had a chest infection.
As I'd had the broken rib for over a week and not used painkillers-I was totally engrossed in feeling so ill from the flu - that I didn't bother using them, I was just careful how I moved!

Cracked ribs are very painful and I found that apart from taking pain killers regularly there was very little else you could do. Got some extra strong painkillers from the doctor which did help for the initial first few days, have no problems now quite a few years later, everything healed OK with not after effects.

I cracked 2 of mine at the beginning of March & it was at least a month before I could cough, sneeze or breathe without wincing.
Thought they had healed until last weekend when I sneezed hard & they are painful again now.
I got some strong painkillers & took them every 4 hours.
Getting in & out of bed was a nightmare.
Hope yours improve soon.

PS. I´m older than you!!!
