A list of plants is always a great thing to have ....when you go on the " quest " your bound to come back with something that isn't on the list ....lol

I know I always do :D

I've been looking at the images Amanda , lots of variations.

I haven't got any specific plan for the garden so far, just seeing what comes up this year really, things I might move next year, and a mental list of plants I would like to get :-)

The leaves on the one in the photo certainly look more rounded than the ones in my garden but the one I have has flowers that are green with a pinkish hue , maybe I've got one that crossed with a darker verity ??

I've had a small one in shade in Wales , but that was the Helleborus Niger, which has quite different leaves and it only managed one flower a year lol.

My Hellebore was in full sun and used to self seed like a mad thing , I only moved it last year in the damp shade as I read it was supposed to prefer that position , it seems quite happy :-)

Also called the " Lenten Rose " or " christmas rose " apparently .

this one is in full sun, south facing spot, I notice there are some new plants growing underneath the main one, so it obviously likes the soil :-)

Kay????

Ive just cut one back Rose although they will stay minus the flowers if left ,,,,,,the seed pod burst open if left but they do get sticky with fly ...the 2 tone lime green flowers are just lovely,,,,,,,my mum I think called it the Bells of Ireland......

Well done Kay :D , Rose , if I'd have realised it had greenish flowers I'd have said Hellibour ;-)

I've got one in my garden and it's still in flower , just , it's in the shadey end .

Glad you're here Amanda!

It's not Alchemilla definitely, it's about >>>runs out>>> about 3 feet tall, and those green 'flowers' have been there since we moved in November though they are now open wide with a triangular seed case in the centre. seed case is actually 3 seperate pieces with seed in.

Just looked at heuchera images, not the right leaf, could I email you the other photo? will be a bit clearer.

Kay????

Kay???? Report 29 May 2011 19:40

could be a Helleborus they come in a wonderful range of colours ,,,,,,,,your looks the lime green flowered variety ,,grow up to 3/4 fet tall ,,,,,,there are hybrid varieties aswell....

Hello Rose ,
I can't see the pic very well , detail wise . It looks like it might be a Heuchera ? How tall is it , roughly ?
It might be Alchemilla ( Ladys mantle ) ?

Is it something weird and wonderful that you have found in your new garden ?

Temporary change of picture hoping someone can identify this plant for me :-)
