many people might look at a thread, but decline to make a post........whereas threads like the quizzes get posters but not many casual viewers

I think (but don't really know) that the number of views is counting different people, so if you look in again it won't count the second or subsequent look.
Any replies are counted, whether or not they are from the same poster.

on some of the large threads there is less viewers then repliers, how can that happen?
