The birth certificate in their original birth name will be amended to include the word---Adopted,,,,,,,,,England.Wales Scotland NI,other countires may hold thier own way of recording this seperatly........their birth is required by law to be registered.. :-)
so to buy their B/C will be needed ,but their birth entry may show this is likley if it has been amended.......not all show this......

Hi Elaine

You could look to see if their birth was registered. If it wasnt then they may be adopted. What year is it you are looking at.
