University tuition fees

My Daughter has just finished her second year at uni.

Her degree course is at the moment 12 hrs a week which I understand is very similar to a lot of degrees.
She still lives at home and commutes and does the bulk of her study at home.

In her final year starting in Oct she will be doing one day and one morning a week in lectures.
The rest is self study

Just wonder why the fees are so high at £3,250 per year and that is just for tuition.
She did bring this up at uni and pointed out that the degree could be done in half the time or less.
She didnt really get an answer!

I understand that some degrees such as medicine teaching etc have more taught hours but how can the universities justify the increase to £9,000 per year.

Im not having a moan but find it very strange how somthing can cost so much.

My daughter has a part time job so hasnt taken out the full student loan.

I think that it will be very difficult for students of any age with the fees in future.

2 lectures a week, that is so wrong especially the cost.

I would love to know how much of the money goes to the tutors,I bet they are on the normal wage of other teachers,

A mission is needed to find out where all those thousands go each year.
I know exam boards etc are payed and buildings etc but it cant really cost that much can it?

Actual costs for many courses are anything up to £22,000 a year. To train a medical student costs a total of £250,000

Micky mouse courses are costing the taxpayer anything up to £50 million each year, and are a total waste of money.
