thanks ladies.so glad i will be able to freeze it, as we all absolutley just love rhubarb crumble and didnt want to eat it all at once.

we started growing it ourselves this year and its doing really well, but were advised not to eat the first years crop and should leave til next year.hence making the most from a friends crop. mmmnnnn.

Hi Florence,

Yes it freezes smashing ,wash dry chop and bag up,,,,,,strawberries dont freeze too bad if they are really dry and froze spread out on a tray first,,,,,,ok for putting in trifles or with other fruit in baking....

I always chop mine up and freeze it raw and it's fine, Florence.

Does anyone know if you can freeze rhubard raw cut into small cubes? or will it be tasteless when it defrosts? i know that strawberries dont freeze well but have been given a lot of rhubarb and wanted to keep some for another time.
thanks
