I may have access to this site for a brief moment ... but I just tried to post this message and it didn't work, so I'll try again ... and again ...

Staff at this site sometimes read and reply to posts on the Suggestions Board.

They do not ordinarily read or reply to posts on other boards.

So threads on Chat etc. about what's wrong with this $#@& site won't get answers.

The thread is:

WILL YOU INFORM YOUR CUSTOMERS PLEASE???

The link is

http://www.genesreunited.co.nz/boards.page/board/suggestions/thread/1271156

That's if you're using NZ. If you're using another country site, it is

http://www.genesreunited.co.za/boards.page/board/suggestions/thread/1271156
or
http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards.page/board/suggestions/thread/1271156
or
http://www.genesreunited.com.au/boards.page/board/suggestions/thread/1271156

but if you go to Suggestions you can't miss it. I broke my no all-caps rule this time. ;-)

How cute.

I can get to this thread via "My threads".

But I can't get the General Chat board -- down for maintenance.

I wonder whether I can post in this thread??

Just idly curious, you know.

I *know* we are all having trouble!

The boards are full of thread after thread after thread about the trouble.

My point here is that *the staff do not read those threads*.

Staff *do* read the Suggestions board.

I think, myself, that it's time we all let this company know how completely unacceptable its behaviour is.

We pay for the services of this site, and for weeks the services have been on-and-off.

What about people who don't use the discussion boards and are having these problems? (I couldn't get search trees to work last night, for instance.) How are they to know what's going on?

It's time WE stopped complaining on the boards, and the MANAGEMENT started telling *us* what is going on and what it is doing about it.

So as I said, if you add to my thread on the Suggestions board, *that* is where the staff will see it.

I also encourage everybody with any of these problems to email the management

You do not want to enter into correspondence with them about what browser you are using, when you last cleared your cache, whether you are using a bookmark, blah blah blah.

The problem is not *caused* at the user's end.

It is *caused* at the website's end, and it is not our job to figure out how to fix it or spend our time telling the staff over and over and over and over about when the problems happen, when we last cleared our cache, blah blah blah.

C'mon, folks. Does *any* other site you have ever used have this many problems? Even free sites??

And when there are problems somewhere else, does the site not put up notices (sometimes even in advance) explaining what is happening?

Would you accept this kind of service if you went to a shop to buy something?

Nice new washing machine you have there.
-- Yes, but it only works on Tuesday, or on Thursday if it's snowing, but when I call the shop about the problem, they just ask me what room I keep it in and what colour the walls are painted ...

I think GR ought to give every member a free months credit, for all the inconvenience we have acquired, I set out today to add so much to my not available tree.
this is the second time that this has happened .

So I'm now going to suggest on the Suggestion Board for a free months subs
:-S
