Thanks for the reminder, Gwyn - I loved it in the 80's and will record it for my 2 daughters (27 & 33) as I know they'll enjoy it.

Wend -- I was already looking at the Tenko entry at wiki, so I just deleted that part -- after the wiki/ -- and put

Emily_Bolton

instead, and there was the (brief) entry about her.

It was just a shortcut to googling her and probably coming up with all sorts of irrelevant Emily Boltons. ;-)

Thanks Janey, you have saved me the trouble of looking it up myself.
Christina Campbell is the name of one of my ancestors, so it has stuck with me all these years.

Please could you explain this in layman's terms, Janey:

'I took a flyer and made up the URL for a wiki entry:'

I know it's a Wikipedia entry that you made, but I would like to know how to do it.

Thanks Wend (nice but dim :-) )

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tenko_%28TV_series%29

The major characters who featured in all three series and the reunion telemovie were:

Marion Jefferson (Ann Bell)—the wife of an army colonel.
Beatrice Mason (Stephanie Cole)—a stern, officious doctor.
Kate Norris (Claire Oberman)—a brash Australian nurse.
Domenica Van Meyer (Elizabeth Chambers)—a vain, selfish Dutch woman.
> Christina Campbell (Emily Bolton)—a mixed-race (Chinese/Scottish) young woman.
Dorothy Bennett (Veronica Roberts)—a young working-class housewife.
Sister Ulrica (Patricia Lawrence)—a formidable Dutch nun.

I took a flyer and made up the URL for a wiki entry:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emily_Bolton

Emily Bolton is an actress probably best known for her appearance in the James Bond film Moonraker in which she played 007's Brazilian contact Manuela.

She is also known for her appearances as an uncredited regular cast member in Space: 1999 and in the BBC prisoner of war drama Tenko, in which she played Christina Campbell and Capital City.

Other credits include Survivors and Crossroads.

She is also credited as June Bolton.

I remember her in Capital City now. Survivors ... watched two episodes of that this year. Dreadful.

My son and I both watched it.
Even now he "Tenko" spots! i.e. calls out Tenko every time he spots/recognises an actress from the series.

I think that over the years, he has spotted most of the women who were in it. However I can't recall seeing the woman who played Christina (can't remember her real name).
Does anyone know if she did other things after Tenko?

Tess

P.S. will try to watch it again this time round.

Loved Tenko - the BBC used to show (make?) some excellent historical dramas years ago

I like almost everything with Stephanie Cole in it. Wasnt very keen on Doc Martin.
I think she is a lovely lady and I wish I looked as good as her in old age. Tenko was a good programme at the time but not sue if seeing it again will be the same. Hope some of the younger viewers will find it, it is so informative.

I adore it, my mother adores it -- I've watched it three times through, it came on Canadian and US public television stations back in the 80s.

I got No.1 to find it and download it for me a few months ago, but the sound quality was terrible, unfortunately.

So now we can watch for it again -- thanks for the heads up!

If Secret Army ever comes back around. let me know. ;-)

I remember watching it. Many years ago. Great series. If I'm not mistaken the mother of Roy from Coronation Street was the doctor in it. I said it was years ago.
