I have a marr cert for 1951 and it was the groom who had been divorced - under this status was the name of his first wife date of marr and date of divorce. I was most surprised, anyone else come across this? It took place in a Reg. Office. |

I have several examples of widows and divorcees (or maybe just separated) remarrying under their maiden name. |

Some folks though liked to eradicate any reference to a marriage so may revert back to a maiden name. You can be known as any name you want as long as its not for fraudulent purposes. |

Well normally you would remarry in your current surname. Our daughter divorced twice and remaried in her current surname, She never reverted back to her maiden name. |
