All went well. No they didn't slip him something to calm him down, and as he has severe needly phobia, they placed the canula in his arm while he wasn't looking. He thought that was it until he was in the machine and they announce from behind the screens 'OK we're injecting you now;

He came out asking if he was that scary they now have to inject by remote control lol.

They told him, as we already knew, that his arteries in his legs are severely blocked...nothing new there then...but at least they know where they are blocked, and hopefully soon we'll know what they can do about it.
Meanwhile, he's off his metformin for his diabetes for a couple of days as that reacts with the stuff they inject him with.

Yes he did feel warm all over for a while, even his feet warmed up for the first time in years :-D

I had this recently. I was very relaxed throughout the whole thing and I believe they slipped me something to calm me down. Whatever, the whole thing was very positive and had successful outcomes.

The dye injection will make him feel very warm all over for a few mins that's all.

To be honest Joy, I'm not really worried about it. I'm more relieved that at long last he's plucked up the courage to do something about it. :-D

the angioplasty my dad had saved his life 10yrs ago.
dad has had 2 heart attacks and has 7 (yes 7)stents .
dad is also a wuss, but owes his life to his first angioplasty.which diagnosed the problem in the first place.tell hubby not to worry.x
and yes it is a canula.x

They attempted a surgical angioplasty a couple of years back, but one artery was so blocked at one point they couldn't get the tool through to clear it out and they almost pierced the artery...oops. He said he felt like he'd wet himself lol.

He only ever frets over needles, I dare not tell him it'll probably be a canula :-S

That's what aged BIL had to check how large the aneurisms were, same principle different symptoms.

BIL was fine and sailed through it, tell himself not to fret and wish him good luck and both have a (((HUG))) from me x

Had dye injected for a normal angiogram/angioplasty a few times. His 'bits and pieces' will warm up! Hot stuff that

I thought that was what it was, but he's worried...he's such a wuss...about the dye being injected. He really has a serious fear of needles (not good for a diabetic eh?) :-S

i think your hubby is having vascular angioplasty,a dye will be injected and it will show up the blockage(its the same as cardiovascular angioplasrt)the dr will take a 3d image of the blockage. its just a better diognostic option for all kinds of blockages. my dad has had the cardiovascular angioplasty 3 times.
dont worry he will be fine.x
the CT means computed tomography . :-D :-D

I'm not talking about the operation angioplasty, where they drive the tubes through your arteries, I'm talking about a CT scan angioplasty.

My OH has to go to the hospital tomorrow (yes Sunday), to have one for the blocked arteries in his legs. We're fairly certain it involves a dye being injected into the blood but wondering what else it involves and how long it takes. The ultrasound scan too hours!!!
