I woke yesterday morning to sudden deafness in my right ear. I have slight hearing loss in my left ear and constant tinnitus for which I wear a hearing aid. |

I've been to the doctors, she looked in both my ears, both are clean so not blocked with wax. She tested my hearing with a tuning fork and was interested that I could hear it louder in front of my ear than behind it. I don't know what that means? |

I hope, if you need it, that the referral comes through quickly. If you have a hearing aid, is it a NHS one? If so could you not have made an appointment at the hearing clinic at the hospital where you got the aid? I have two aids and am having some trouble with one of them so will make an appointment (used to be able to just turn up). |

I would always make an appointment with the hearing clinic at hospital rather than go tomy GP with my hearing problems as theya re the specialists in the field. Most of ours (not all) are very helpful. They had to go over to an appointment system because the clinic is so well used. |
