	hello joan, it means that they are unable to find a record of what you are looking for. do you definately have the correct details? perhaps you could tell us what you are looking for and someone may offer to have a look for you. florence in the hebrides

	Maybe you are putting in too much info .also boundaries have changed so are you stating a County as it is now, Off course there may just not be any record .ie many births pre 1875 weren't registered.
