I'm not surprised ...the prices they charged. !!!

How rude of them to go before I got my lottery win ...!!

Seriously, it's always a shame to hear of any company going into administration. I so feel for all of the employees who are going to be affected by this x

Its sad for those who will lose their jobs.

But its no wonder specialist companies who charge higher prices find themselves in trouble in this current climate. :-( When similar cheaper goods can be bought from other retail chains, which appeal to a larger market.

Apparently staff had no idea , they all turned up for work, a phone call was recieved and the were all sent home.

Lawrence Llewellyn-Bowen was their front man so to speak, and he is said to have had his Flabber well & Truly Gasted. He was even at a shindig last week with all of the top peeps from the Co.

Goes to show no job is safe these days

Hello my mad friend :-D

Mid to high end retailers are going to the wall and will do for a while. There is a finite amount of money (even in London) and bespoke fittings are comparable in price to these companies' products.

They cannot rely on Joe Bloggs to order from them as Joe Bloggs is watching his pennies.

Habitat (another gone pop) boring moulded plastic chair and metal legs, I think it was £140 for one.

Lovely to see you BTW x

We decided to have a new kitched 18 months ago and looked around to compare prices and quality. Knocked over with the prices the companies that advertise on TV wanted to charge. In the end we bought a kitchen from Screwfix and had a local plumber/kitchen fitter insall it for us. Result, a beautiful kitchen ordered and delivered on time, very little mess from the fitter, all in all cost £1800....Admittedly, there were no appliances, but we did have new taps.

Gawd Kathlyn £1800 with no appliances , was it flat pack ?

If it was, they saw you coming , but if you are delighted thats all that matters.

Hi Claire,

No, it came ready assembled and we are delighted with it. 25 years ago we had an all singing all dancing kitchen installed, and it cost us the earth. "This is the only kitchen you are going to have", he said, so we pushed the boat out. It did include appliances, but as they were all installed at the same time.......they all went kapoot within 18 months of each other.

We are very happy with the quality of the units and the workmanship that installed them.

By the way, I do have a rather large kitchen, so lots of units were needed.

I had a Moben kitchen fitted about 15 years ago and never had a problem with the appliances or the cupboards, admittedly it was expensive but everything was put together and plumbed in, last year I wanted to update the kitchen but didn't like anything in the cheaper stores so went to Moben again, got it all done and a free dishwasher, very happy with it
