We had a small TV in 1953. My Dad used to love all the westerns thatw ere on. I remember the Lone Ranger and Tonto. Bet we'd find the pictures awful now, small and black and white and often with 'snow' on them. and breaks every so often. remember the potters wheel and the sea gently breaking on the shore?

I remember them all. There were so many cowboys on tv then and I loved watching the horses.......even if they did speed them up a bit!

I remember Andy Pandy, Muffin the Mule (I had a metal puppet of Muffin with red strings), Picture Book, Bill and Ben......weren't they on at teatime?

I think it may have been in the 60s when I used to watch Rawhide with Gil Favor and do you remember Sugarfoot. How did it go.......easy lopin, cattle ropin Sugarfoot.....

As well as the 'snow', remember how the picture would start to roll over or the sides go narrow. We always seemed to be twiddling one knob or another didn't we.......Horizontal Hold or Vertical Hold.....don't have those on modern tvs.

We used to think a 26inch tv was TOO BIG for most rooms as well !!!! lol

I was brought up by my grandparents and I can remember my grandfather used to watch 'Tonight' every evening with Cliff Michelmore on our small 12 inch black and white TV.

I was a PC on the beat circa 1955. A pub had a giant screen which you could view from outside.

I'd never seen a TV like that and was watching avidly when a plate of sausages appeared on the screen.

I couldn't work out the connection at first, but it was the first night of commercial TV in our area. The advert was a brand new experience. Think we were all naive in those days.

Happy days
