So funny to watch..........i have just seen two of my Sparrows fighting over a Posties red elastic band.
One flew off with it into the ivy on the back wall where about 50 of them nest and live all year round.
I reckon they are all up there secretly making Catapults!

Perhaps they were going to give it to Cock Robin for a bow and arrow.

I never get fed up of watching the antics of my tame and wild animals.

The Vixen who regularly visits my garden for a feed, must have young cubs at the moment, because she collects as much food in her mouth as she can,and trots off looking like a Puffin with a beakful of sprats.

Lol Annina.
I put Sultanas and Grapes out for the Black Birds......I know the kindest thing would be to cut the Grapes into small pieces (and i sometimes i do).........But, i get hours of pleasure watching them dissamantle Grapes into beak size pieces.

T'is wonderful........... :-)

Oh I do miss my sparrows, we don't have any around here. At our other house we had a massive garden with loads of different birds, even a sparrowhawk, jay and woodpeckers. We had rabbits, foxes and owls and even once a deer. I suppose I took it all for granted and miss it now.

Close to where Mum lives is an area of grass where a lot of people put food out for the birds. Also a dog walking area.

One day Mum left some grapes for the birds. As she left the area there was a woman picking something up right were Mum had left the grapes.

A couple of days later I was at the Vets with one of my dogs and there is a sign up saying what is poisonous to dogs.

Turns out that dogs should not eat grapes.

But I do put grapes out in my front garden for the birds.

We used to have a coal bunker out side the kitchen window. Several generations of blackbird were raised on what we used to call worm burgers. Actually they were cat biscuits but they were convenience food for them,

My nest of bees is still very busy in the eaves above the bedroom window. There is a nest of the economy sized ones next door to them now. Oh yes.it's really buzzing here.
