Pickles. I have just necked two pickled eggs as I sit here and usually have at least one every day.

I can't pass a jar of pickled onions without I buy it. We went shopping one day and they were on offer so I bought two jars. By the time we reached home there was one and a quarter jars.

Those big pickled gherkins in Lidl Pickled beetroot, pickled walnuts, capers, pickled garlic.

The garlic farm on the Isle of Wight does garlic picallili. It doesn't have that livid yellow sauce on it and it is flipping gorgeous. I hope to get over there and buy some more soon but you can bet one jar will be down my neck before I get home.

That vinegar that beetroot is pickled in, I drink it when I have finished the jar.

Sour old biddy or what!

Hi Ladylol

Up until Christmas when I was ill I had salad cream on everything.......after that I can't stand salad cream anymore and have craved for mayonaise. lol

No idea why I want lemon juice in it.......maybe I'm just craving vitamin C lol
But the lemon juice just makes it really nice and tangy, normally I find mayo really bland, as long as you mix it in well it doesn't curdle at all.

I am going to try that Mary.

I have mixed lots of things with mayonaise, but not lemon. Nice with fish i imagine.

I have to buy pickled onions because mine are rubbish. Likewise my pickled eggs. My mango chutney is pretty damned good though.

While we are on sour, I am a bit obsessed with sandwich spread too. I eat it in sandwiches, oddly enough, with crunchy peanut butter and a bit of salt. Well it doesn't hurt anybody does it?

Sharron Report 5 Jul 2011 10:46

Personally I would prefer pickled garlic to sex.I have never had a disappointing piece of pickled garlic.

No,it is not as strong as raw garlic.I suppose the difference is the same as with onions.

Don't think I mentioned capers before, they are pretty moreish too.
