Anyone watch it? Who'd have thought little Joe Maceldry (sp) would have such a big voice. Well done him for winning it. And cheryl Baker did well too.

I watched some of it Ann. Was much better than I thought it would be. perhaps I should have watched from the start.

I hope that it helps Joe, Cheryl and the girl from steps (sorry her name escapes me) in particular. They were all to be admired for trying something so difficult in the public eye.

I wasn't able to watch it much this time as o.h. doesn't like it and there was always something else he wanted to watch and no room on the recorder. I did record this final tho especially cos Andrea Bocelli was on altho I was disappointed with his performance and think he is looking old for 52.
I thought Cheryl Baker was great, what a lovely person she is, and Joe did really well too, hadn't realised what a shorty he is but what a big voice. Hope he continues to sing opera and enjoys himself doing so.

I think they will both go on to do some opera because they loved it so much. I think that was what was good, it came over how much they enjoyed singing and the 'judges'/mentors were all so enthusuastic too. A real contrast to X Factor.

We actually didn't see all of them, particualrly the ones at the beginning but have watched the past 4/5 weeks. It was made difficult because the BBC changed the time of Countryfile so that they clashed and we had to watch it recorded.

Really enjoyed the series, and in my opinion the right two people were also in the final. Well done and good luck to Joe and Cheryl.

I really love this programme and to see their faltering, nervous beginnings and then see what they can achieve. Amaxzing! I thought Joe went from strength to strength and although I was hoping for Cheryl to win (she is so nice!) I thought that Joe was the deserving winner. A great feel-good programme.. :-)

I always thought he had a good voice but isn't it surprising what voice training and advice can do. I wonder how many other porential opera singers there are out there?

I think it proves that anyone can sing, Ann, with the proper advice and training. I have always thought we are all born singers but some lose self belief along the way. Others, like me, screech their way happily through life and will sing at the drop of a hat! :-D <3
