We are all born diferent weights and heights and so we die the same.

I myself am now perfectly proportioned to pose as a Reubens model!

I 'looked like that' well into my 30s and was 31/21/31 at 18.
Perfectly healthy and had a good appetite but as Ice Baby says, some people can be very mean and make nasty comments.

Whoa betide me if I dare to comment about someone who is over weight though - why is that?

Kate is too thin, it was said before the wedding that the stress and anticipation of the big event had caused her to lose weight and I don't think she has put it back on yet. Maybe she will add a little more flesh to her bones in the next few months. I also read that William wanted her to flesh out a little as he was concerned ( not the words quoted but same meaning)

She might have problems conceiving if they are trying to start a family, altho Posh Beckham didn't so who knows......?

She is lovely tho, just a little too slender for her own good I think.

I used to get M&S size 11. (5"5)

I think Kate looks lovely, thats all I need to know. Not what size she is. Anyone would loose weight going through this big change in her life.

Wend, lol!!

When I got married nearly 30 years ago at 5' 3" I weighed 7 st 10 oz and wore a size 3 shoe. About two months after the wedding I couldn't get the flipping things on my feet! I put on about 10lb straight away. Now I I wish I weighed that little!!!

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 12 Jul 2011 21:22

I was 5ft 2 and a half (and that half was important Lol!!) I weighed 7st 12 until I had my second child at 27 then it went up to 8st 4. Where it stuck for ages.

Yes we bought clothes by bust/waist/hip sizes but 10, 12, etc came in late 60s I think (I was a 10 then)

Anyone else remember when M&S did in between sizes? I used to wear first an 11 and then a 13.

And now I am a 16!!!!! (not overweight but under tall!)

When I married I was 32-22-33, a regular tin ribs. Lol

I didn't think I was particularly skinny, everyone else was the same.

Now when I look back on the old photos, I think we all realise how young and pretty we all were.

Did we know it? Course not. We were all a quivering mass of insecurities. Silly, silly girls.

If I remember rightly there was no size 8 but the regular size 12 was 34-24-36.
and the 10 was 32-22-34. I was considered thin as I was between 8-10. No longer now of course. I think those sizes wouild now be considered to be 6 and 8.

Catherine is a tall girl 5' 9" and very elegant too. I think she has lost weight but who wouildn't with the schedule she has had lately.

There were no such sizes as I recall, 8, 10, 12 etc - as Georgina says it was all bust sizes even coats. I used to make most of my clothes from aged 16 and patterns were always bust sizes.

Wend

Wend Report 12 Jul 2011 19:47

In my case a wigwam :-D

GEORGINA

GEORGINA Report 12 Jul 2011 18:57

Sizes are confusing too. Didn't we used to buy clothes by the bust size for tops and waist size for skirts and trousers.

Now we have to look at UK, USA, and European sizes on clothes, as well as OS XL XXL. etc.

Perhaps we should ask for 1 man tent, 4 man tent, bell tent.

GEORGINA Report 12 Jul 2011 18:11

When I married in 1964 aged 23, I was 35-24-34.

My height was 5'2" and I weighed just 8 stone.

Would you believe that my mother said I was fat?
the fellas didn't and those were the days of appreciative wolf whistles.

Has anyone really weighed and measured the poor girl, or is that what the media have been told?

Ann - snap - I was 5' 6" - could not make out what height she was as I think they have got it wrong. I was that until I had first child. Actually at one stage I must have been worse as mother took wedd. dress in twice around waist and threatened me!

We probably did look that but fashions were different - 1 yd to make bodice and 3-3 1/2 yrds in skirts!

Annina Report 12 Jul 2011 16:06

Mine were the same but for a 36 bust, but as I am only 5ft 2ins,I looked a lot fatter.

I reckon that if she turns sideways she will disappear. :-D :-D
