Never underestimate people like Murdoch, this is just a slight blip in his bid to take over as much as the media as he can. get away with.Once the smoke has blown over he,ll be back with a vengance( Unless the Americans can stop him.) with their laws.**M**. :-S

And todays the day the Murdochs appear before the commons media committee.
With the best city lawyers and pr.men I should think Rupert will 'read his answers' like a script.........

I've always loved the film 'Citizen Kane' and although not quite the same story (and of course fiction) I can't help but think of some of the similarities..............so like Kane will Murdoch utter his final lines as "Redhead"?

Allegedly he was busy buying up his company shares on the NY stock exchange earlier this week.

And when he does it will become common parlance , known as " doing a Murdoch "

Murdoch knows what he's doing, he's not successful for no reason, and he would have seen this as a shrewd move.

I disagree that the BBC is more powerful than Murdoch, the politicians don't run scared of the BBC like they do Murdoch and NI, and particularly the Sun newspaper, who they love to have onside, and if he had managed the takeover of BSkyB, it would have made matters worse.

Don't think this is the last of it though. Once all inquiries and court cases are done and dusted, he'll be back with another takeover bid.

I get the feeling Murdoch is covering his backside, there is so much yet to be revealed re phone hacking, he may never recover when the whole story is out.

Am glad as (irrespective of the hacking which is dreadful) I was concerned that one man/company should have such a wide power in the media world.
