My eldest son & I were in the garden this morning watching a blackbird having a dust bath and he seemed to be having a good time. All this was a distraction technique! His partner was in the greenhouse eating my blueberries!!!!!

You might end up with nice 'blue stains' on your washing too ;-) lol

They are so cheeky aren't they? Ours gets lots of food put out but was it good enough, oh no! He was in the greenhouse digging amongst my indoor bulbs and other things, and tossing small plants and soil/compost everywhere! He has done it to tubs in the garden too, I wish he would learn to sweep up behind himself and also not to leave things bare rooted!

Think yourself lucky ,i have to hide under the garden parasol as the blackbirds come over the house roof dropping the cherry pips from the tree over the road,lol
Blackbirds and thrushes like their fresh fruit and don't care where they get it from :-) Fred.

They also like ....Blackcurrants !!

I planted a Blackcurrant bush early this year that was given to me by my brother in law from his allotment and was thrilled to have my own crop !

But two weeks ago I went to and view my lovely blackcurrants ......only to shoo away some blackbirds having a real treat ...

All I have now is a bush !! ..... going to have to do it the old fashion way now and put a net curtain over it next year ...

Its the pigeons that annoy us. They roost in a tree which over hangs our drive, and have a very efficient digestive system, helped by the cherry stones!

One offspring has refused to park their car there now as they are fed up having to wash the windscreen and driver's door before they go out in the morning :-(

Any one got an air-rifle???

I know the feeling +++DetEcTive+++

The pigeons love it in the oak tree above our drive.
Council would only lop so many branches off!!
We have the blackberries and cherry results.

They were going for my blackcurrants too
also one blackbird was having a field day with my raspberries
i was just sitting in the garden reading my book when i heard a lot of commotion in the raspberry bush ,i looked up and saw this blackbird jumping up from the ground and pinching my fruit then taking it on to the lawn to eat it then go back for another one :-D
