Dear All

Hello

Hope you are okay.

Today I went with my OH to the small saucepan lids sports day.

Now being a shy, retiring flower (ahem), I was going to just watch.

However, when we got there, I suddenly changed into this really enthusiasic
and outgoing person and had a go in most of the parents races.

Now being a dinosaur relic and not like all these perfect mums with size O
figures, I didn't look glamourous but I sure as hell had a good time!

My saucepans lid's face was a picture as he watched me do the spoon race and the three leg race.

He was so embarassed! I call this payback time for chilbirth.

Even my OH said "Have you taken something with water this morning?!!

Maybe its the effect of the full moon.

What are your memories of school sports day?

Take gentle care all
Very best wishes
xx

Bad ones, I was never any good at school sports. Even when I was put into the school swimming team, because I was good at backstroke, when it came to an inter-schools competition, I trailed in last by about 3 minutes, and felt completely stupid.

*shudders*

Wow Elizabeth
You're brave. No parents races in our nearby school for several years now.

When I was in primary school our junior school had no room for sports, so we all trailed down the street to the infants' school which had a grass field.
My overall memory of the races are dimmed by the fact that no matter how the day had started, it always seemed to rain and one particular year there was a terrific thunderstorm. Luckily a nearby garage / barn was quickly opened up and as many of us children, Mums and young siblings crammed our soggy selves in to the space to shelter from the worst of it.
