I must have missed something, but how do you edit/correct on the family tree window please?

If it is only the names, places, dates etc, just go into the bottom half of the page where you originally typed them and alter there

If it's something a bit more complicated, if you'd like to mention it, we can probably advise.

hope you dont mind me joining this thread but i also am having problems editing my tree
I originally put names and birth year of some living relations i have changed some to private person and deleted the birth year but when i try to do the same with their parents who are still living i get a pop up saying they must be born earlier than thier children who were born blank
what am i doing wrong

Try putting fictitious years in for the children, and place of birth or a generic UK, then an earlier year for the parents.

It might be an idea to use the 'Hide Living Relatives' function as well - the names will still come up on a search, but won't be visible to anyone who you allow to view your tree.

yes that worked ok but had to work right back from all grandchildren and their children on another branch of my tree it means altering 42 people before i get back to the living relative i want to edit .it seems a bit silly
but if thats the only way so be it
thankyou
