Oh thanks Jo, and don't worry, I understood, and the e card was lovely.

My birthday was nice, just wish I wasn't so old......or could turn the numbers round and know what I know now, lol

Went out on the Sunday with o.h. to the coast, had a paddle in the sea and had fish and chips before coming back.

On my birthday (Monday) o.h. went to work in the morning and son had a course to attend so he walked to where o.h. works afterwards and they came back together by which time I had surfaced and bathed.

I had lots of cards to open as I had been good and saved all those that came early, our Dutch is a one for sending them in time, mine had been sitting there for weeks lol

I had a new holdall with wheels from my son (I chose it in Sainsbury's sale but it was just what I wanted so he paid for it) and he also got me some elephant ornaments, a mother and child pair which he said could be looked at two ways, one was as him now taller than me and hugging me or me hugging him when he was little - I loved the thought that was there as much as the elephants themselves. He also got me a Rennie Mackintosh design book marker from Past Times, and the card he gave me had lovely words written in by him, not printed, so I was happy.

O.h. got me two little elephant incense stick holders and he paid for a lovely new towelling robe I had spotted in Dunelm's sale so I now have a really thick snuggly robe to put on after a bath instead of the tatty one I had been using. Of course there was the usual box of naughty Thorntons chocs to sabotage my efforts at losing weight! He has also given me some cash to spend so I started spending yesterday in Lidl where I managed to get a pair of leather mules that I had wanted for ages - was surprised there was a pair left in my size as they were last week's offer. My previous ones from there are a bit scruffy now and I only use them to garden in but they did very well so hope the new ones will also. Unusually I didn't get flowers from o.h. but never mind, I have a few daisies from the garden in a vase now.

I got a book from friend in Germany and a Pam Ayres book from o.h.'s dad and stepmum, there is a poem in there about packing for hols which is me to a T. Also had a surprise package from Dutch, thanks you naughty girl. Had some money in another card and a cheque from an old friend locally in the card she sent me so I can treat myself to lots of goodies. I got some nice handcream in Sainsburys on Saturday to start me off.

Later in the afternoon of my birthday o.h., my son and I went to Sheringham which is where we stayed in June, had a wander round altho the shops were closing and then a hike up to the Beeston Bump, a bit of a struggle up the hill but lovely views and lots of fresh air - it was a bit overcast and blustery but it blew away the cobwebs lol. We then had a meal in our favourite pub/restaurant, another wander along the front and took my son home and then picked up more cards from my house before coming home for a rest!

All in all, a nice birthday altho I was disappointed I couldn't get online to read my birthday thread. I did get to read some of it on my son's fancy phone and he added to Dutch's bday thread for me, but when we tried to add to mine, his phone lost the message and there wasn't time to do it again.

Many thanks for all your kind greetings online and in cards (so many lovely handmade ones too) and for caring when I was absent.

love
Lizxxx

We have MISSED you, love!
I do hope you had a lovely birthday - not as many cards as you should have had - sorry!
