Mommylonglegs Report 30 Jul 2011 21:04

I am new to Ebay and have recently bought 6 items.

But I have had two items that were not as described. One was supposed to be brand new without tags, but the item had stains. I got in touch with the seller and asked for permission to wash the item to see if it would come clean. She was surprised that it was marked but agreed for me to wash it. The item has not come clean and the seller has agreed to refund my money but not the PP that I paid to receive it. It will cost me £4 to send the item back only for a £5 refund.

The other was supposed to be in new condition. It turned out to have 4 tiny holes in it. The seller will accept returns but it will cost me more to send it back than the refund.

I would much rather leave negative feedback and just bin the items. But not sure if I can do this now, now that the sellers have offered a refund of the buying price.

Any advice really appreciated,

Thanks

Jenny

I have bought many items from ebay and some had to be returned. In every case the postage was also refunded. I would contact ebay themselves and ask advice

Hi Jenny,

What was the returns policy given by the sellers? If it says they will only refund the cost of the item then you are stuck with the P & P. Ebay won't give you advice because you are in a contract with the sellers.

If you paid via Paypal you could file a dispute but to be honest it's a lot of time wasting.

You can leave neg feedback but explain that the cost of return outweighs the refund.

I would try and reason with the sellers and ask for a FULL refund but they are entitled to say no.

Good luck

Sue
