I have just caught the tail end on BBC, of an interview with a young author. I gather the book is set in Liverpool about a pregnancy, birth and post natal depression. The Mother is called Rachel I think.

Can anyone tell me the title and author of the book please?

Jenny - this is from BBC Pages:

Meet the author: Helen Walsh
28 July 2011 Last updated at 21:17 Help In this week's Meet the Author, the BBC's Nick Higham speaks to author Helen Walsh about her new book Go To Sleep.

The book follows the story of a woman suffering from post-natal depression and sleep deprivation after the birth of her first child, an autobiographical subject matter for Walsh.

Walsh says she hopes it will "bring the issue of sleep deprivation into the public arena".

Yes Elisabeth, that is the one. Thank you very much for the info and link. Although I have never suffered from either, I would imagine it a good read.

Oh heaven's, could have been me! My son didn't sleep through the night till he was 2 and a half and as a single Mum, I had no one to help me out. He nearly went out the window many a night lol, I tried everything, singing to him, rocking him, the lot. Middleaged single childless health visitor told me to leave him on the floor of his bedroom to cry himself to sleep and then put a blanket over him when he was sleeping so as not to disturb him! Fgs, firstly how would any Mum rest knowing her baby was on the floor and crying, and secondly the neighbours wouldn't have put up with it - they needed their sleep too!
