I had an appointment today with the nurse at the Drs surgery.
She called me into her room and and asked me the usual details.
Then she said...........if you would like to go behind the screen, remove your lower garments and climb up on the bed, i will be with you in a moment......
:-S
Scuse me....said i.......if you think i am removing my knicker's for a routine blood test, you can think again!!! :-0

She thought i was there for a smear test!!

:-D

Lol PH.

How long did you have to wait for your routine blood test? I had a letter last saturday telling me I needed to make my annual appointment for a routine blood test (starving one as on statins) in the following two week. Called in the surgery to make the appointment on Monday. No appointment s for three weeks available? that week no good to me so my appointment is four weeks. I am just waiting for a letter asking me why I have not attended. Oh yes then I was to make a follow up appointment with the BP clinic, newly set up, for two weeks after the test. But I will be away for a month so that's messed that up. And she couldn't make that appointmnet anyway because the clinic is not yet on the computer. What price technology.

Hi Ann, i called in to make an appointment last Friday and the appointment was made for today.
I don't think i have ever had to wait more than a week for any sort of appointment at my surgery. :-)

Neither have I normally. I can usually ring in the morning and have an appointment that day so I was quite shocked.

Ah, GP's computer systems :-0

A couple of years ago, I attended a routine appointment with the Practice nurse. After she accessed my files on the computer, she gave me a quizzical look and shot out of the room, returning a few minutes later with one of the admin staff. Together they huddle over the keyboard and monitor and talked in whispers.

What dreaded lurgy or mental state was I supposed to have notes about? Turns out they had been assigning codes to all the patients. The one given to me meant that I shouldn't be walking around; i should have been lying on a mortuary slab, having an autopsy. :-D

Ohh gosh Det!!!
One of the funniest things my friend told me ages ago....and still makes me laugh everytime i think about it.........
He had a slight accident at work and was signed off for two weeks with a back injury.
He had to go back to the Drs for a check up, hoping to be given the "all clear" so that he could return to work.
The Dr asked him lots of questions and my friend said yes, everything was fine.
The Dr asked if he was ok driving......yes fine he replied.
And what about your relations asked the Dr?

Oh fine.....he replied. I still manage to visit them once a week!!!! :-D :-D :-D

A long .. long .. time ago I visited my Dr 's for a pregnancy test.
You did that in those days
Gave him the required sample and was told to come back 1 week later..
1 week later I am sitting there , all nervous and excited to hear..
OK .. the good news is you are clear for urine infection, diabetes and prostrate problems???
ER .. bad news is we sent it off for the wrong test :-S
Last week I had a reminder to 'Mr' ..... for a prostrate examination from the NHS as I was male and now over 50 :-0

Dear All

Hello

Hope you are okay.

Given the length and time of training, you think these
medical 'professionals' would know the difference between male and female! :-S

Take gentle care all
Very best wishes

A woman I knew had a bit of a stroppy horse. She was leading it in on a rope halter and it pulled its head up quickly burning her hands badly with the rope.

Her husband took her to A&E because she was in such pain and she was amazed at how very caring they all were. she was comforted and supported and a counsellor was sent for, which she thought was most extreme for rope burns.Somebody had written an o that looked like an a.

Daughter broke left leg. Hospital sent report to her doctor. When she visited his surgery she wondered why he kept looking at her legs one of which (the left one) was in plaster. He said, "this is very interesting, your hospital records say you have broken your right leg, which one is it"

Huia Report 5 Aug 2011 22:40

We used to have to fill out a form when we went into the hospital to have a baby. The form asked 'is your admission the result of an accident?' Well, I ask you, what would you reply? Yes? No, we did it deliberately? I wonder if they have changed the form since those days (half a century ago!)
