How long do you leave your tea to brew?

I was watching a programme the other day where it said that if you leave it brewing for at least 3 minutes then you get the majority of the health benefits from it.....maximum benefits kick in at 7 mins (which to me seems a bit too long) x

OH has black Earl Grey; the tea bag is probably dunked for about 45 secs while 'whoever' is messing about with the coffee and milk. It gets bashed around in the mug before being taken out.

The Inlaws 'breakfast' tea has the bag left in their cup for about a minute. Even though they like it strong, 7 mins is rather a long time!

I've been thinking about this a lot lately lolol, I'm a coffee drinker but when I run out ( or don't feel well and coffee tastes vile) I have teabags...they are really naff, so I am going to use a tea pot in future and brew properly with some loose tea :-D

I make tea with loose tea and leave it to stand ,under a tea cosy for about 3 mins ,The first one out is for the person that likes tea a bit weak then each cup gets a bit stronger as its poured. WE don't like strong tea so i don't stir the tea before i put the lid on and let stand.

Even our grandaughter loves one of nannies real cups of tea, as she calls it

People should always remember to warm the tea pot first, this will help to keep the tea nice and hot whilst it brew's

5 minutes for me please,
and don't forget 1 sugar and a little milk for me :-) who's turn is it to put the kettle on then ;-)

I don't even know where my teapot is anymore it's that long since I've used it lol.

My nan used to make tea so strong I swear you could stand a spoon straight in it !!!!!!!!!!!!!! yuk.

Though after watching the prog I've gone from a quick dunk to the 3 mins and I'm slowly getting used to it.x
