Please can anyone help guide me with the Family Tree bit. I started my family tree with various ancestors but after I save what I've done then come out of that persons page/box and do something else then go back to the person and notice their birth/death/marriage dates have been deleted so I put them in again and its been going on for a week. Also I attach records then the next day can't find them, they were in Lifeline and Events but just disappear. Can anyone explain if there are more than one tree ie new and old and am I doing it wrong/entering into the wrong tree. I have wasted a whole week doing this and unfortunately the Support Team say everything's fine and they can see the saved records........I can't !!! I've paid 19.99 for 30 days and have wasted a weeks money to get nowhere. I've probably posted to the wrong thread page too sorry.......have a real nightmare of it. I have worked on computers for 25 years and don't deem myself thick but this is making me question my intelligence Any help greatly appreciated :-(

The new tree on GR has got several faults and i personally would not use it,

If you hover your mouse over the "family tree" tab at the top of the page, Then a drop down box will appear, click on "use old tree"

the Support Team have been saying that the last "new tree" was fine for months despite members having problems If the last tree worked fine why have they introduced yet another "new version of the new tree"

i totally agree with porky pie and staffyknot i personally didnot like the new tree where you slide out all the details this latest version is ok but am having trouble getting the "list" tab to download i have taken all but 15 mins waiting for it to download but to no avail so i have gone back to the old tree to use if i have trouble tonight will send email to support staff and see what goes i think they mess about with things just for something to do

I don't like the new tree either. I find it clunky where the old one operated much more smoothly. Does any one know if there is any way to have the photos visible on the tree rather than hidden away?

I dislike the new format too!I preferred the old format and have been on GR for many years so have lots of family detail on it but will seriously consider if I want to remain on this site!!
As said before,if it aint broke why fix it -improve things by all means but I cant get get my head round the new one at all .The old one was much easier to use.

I also find that the new format is appalling. I spend quite a lot of my time using my iPad. Yesterday I tried my computer and still found it very difficult.
I am going to inform Genes that in a week I shall cancel my. Subscription.
I have had such help and support not just for searching records but also in some sad and difficult times.

Why oh why has this change been so traumatic, and is it true that GR is likely to fold completely,?
