Ancestry isn't this bright Kense, at least not for me. Is there a way to adjust brightness just for this site?
The use of blue/turquoise is ridiculous, completely unsuitable.

I definitely will not be able to participate on the boards if it stays like this.
Have a light sensitive eye condition and even my dark tinted reading glasses are not helping here! The eyestrain is just too much!

I dont mind the change but I do agree that it is too white...

Other sites that I use, such as Ancestry and BBC Messageboards, have a similar brightness. On other threads Rollo has suggested ways that you can adjust the colour settings for GR.

My eyes are OK but I find it too glaring - and is the print smaller or is that just me?

I told them in the feedback last week that stark black on white was not good for certain eye / reading conditions, but they don't seem to have taken that on board and I don't see why we should have to change screens to come onto a site that is largely about records and relaying information by the written word.

I have no problems with my eyes but was on here for about 10 minutes and when I looked away I felt I had been staring at a lightbulb and got that wierd 'black'
shadow in my eyes. If you know what I mean! lol

I always hate the changes when they first happen but I swiftly get used to them....so I guess i will do with this one too eventually.

We are involved in a community cinema and have just received over thirty pages of guff about the need to make websites accessible for all. Lots of it is to do with the needs of the visually impaired.

I am not visually impaired, but this black on glaring white is horrific and the turquoise just looks fuzzy.

and sequins muffy like team GB leotards ;-)


I am going to struggle with this black on white isnt easy with being dyslexic , I ll have to have a root about to see if I can change it on my pc :-(

Just reduce the brightness on your screen.

I suppose we'll get used to it but is the background bright for everyone else, when I said mine was bright on the Beta site Iw as told it was fine for everyone else and that it should show shaded but mine is very white. I don't like the turquoise much either because it makes my eyes hurt. Never mind it means I'll spend less time on here that's all.

It dieffo needs blinging up Allan abit not so easy on the eyes either :-D
