I was under the impression you lived in the Rhonda Valley region - this is not where the little girl and her family lives is it? Why do you feel you need to know everything there is to know about this case and why would someone tell you anything you may have missed. Most people are more concerned with the fate of little April than any information regarding her family.

Gwynne Did see your post after I had posted.

Not sure what to think of Bridger's arrest. Hopefully it indicates that police may be close to finding April.

We all hoped for good news today (even curious people), but even a sad result will be better than not finding April at all. Remember that poor lady Winnie who never found remains of son on Saddleworth Moor.

This has been a lovely caring thread and I feel the questions I asked were really because I have followed case quite closely being not that far away and knowing area a little bit. Yet I had not read all the papers or seen all the news programmes and I genuinely thought others (perhaps with a better eye for detail than me) would have told me something I had missed.

John

Been reading this and sat on my hands......but

What in god’s name have the childs uncles, aunts or cousins got to do with anything?

Would you like them to parade for you, give you an account of their whereabouts and family background?

The only thing that has been on my mind is, April and her family. I can’t imagine what they are going through, it must be torture.

My prayers are with April and her family and I hope with all my heart that she is found safe and well

You missed my later post, John, Bridger has been charged with April's murder.

The rest of the family may have really good reasons for not talking to the media. Health issues spring to my mind. And whatever the reasons are they are none of your business.

So do I - the questions you have asked are totally inappropriate and I cannot see the need for anyone not connected with the family to know the 'family background'.

Gwynne Must admit I much prefer "idle curiosity" to "amateur sleuthing"

When the little girl went missing in our road in Leamore in 1965 or 1966, the whole of the family and everyone in the area was involved in looking for her. We all searched alongside her parents, grandparents (only two were still alive) and her cousins and aunts and uncles. It was primarily a family affair, and we were all devastated when her body was found on Cannock Chase.

Same thing has happened here in terms of spontaneous support and we all want to do something to help - even if just wishing for safe return of April and wishing Coral and family well. But there only seems to be her poor mother Coral and step-sister and godmother in the media.:-S :-S

Here's hoping for better news today :-)

Rambling Report 5 Oct 2012 10:30

John, have you considered there may be no aunts uncles and cousins. If God forbid , my son had ever gone missing for any length of time there would have been one uncle, and that's it...no cousins of an appropriate age, no grandparents at all.... certainly no appearance by father's family.

Just pointing out that not everyone has( or indeed is close) to a wide family group and there is nothing 'suspicious about that, so while we may all be amateur detectives in private, perhaps speculation should be kept to 'private thoughts' this being an unsecure site as well. The police will know and that's what matters ( yes I do have faith in their ability ).

The pink ribbons break your heart, I hope April will be found soon.

I'm sure a delve would have been first line of inquirey family whereabouts........we dont see all that goes on behind the scenes nor should we,,,,,,,if anything else didnt add up then you can bet your bottom dollar then someone else or others would have been in for questioning.......

this case isnt about family background thier lives, thats their buisness not our to disect to pieces and the less the public know the better ------
just respect their privacy,,,,,,,

I think the police and the family have far more important things on their minds that satisfying people's idle curiosity about the family background.

It's none of our business. If anything is relevant in their background I'm sure the police will tell us in the fullness of time or, more likely, the gutter press have already been digging and it will be splashed over the newspapers.

I think you are very much out of order, John.

Still no good news this morning. Search still positive and pink ribbons everyhere are a sign of that. Prayers in local church and everywhere (see one or two posts here) are quite intense. Ambulance still on standby because she will be "a very sick little girl after 4 days". Bridger is in custody till 5pm today but police can apply for further 24 hours. Many searches today including further searches at Bridgers isloated farmhouse and the massive outbuildings. And at Llwyn-y-gwern hotel where he worked.

Don't think I have been amateur sleuthing at all. Not a huge amount of facts available yet to make any conclusions. Happy to let police do that.

What I have been interested in is the family background, and make no apology for that on here (where we all like to know family backgrounds). I know who her mother is (Coral Jones) and I know Coral has a stepfather (Dai Smith) who was with Coral when she made her emotional appeal. And little April has a godmother who has actively promoted this pink ribbon campaign (which I do think has helped locally a lot). And April has an older brother and sister who were both out in the town posting leaflets on Tuesday night. And elder sister has been intereviewed on TV early one.

But where are the rest of April's family. I just wondered if anyone on this thread had spotted something about them I had missed. The father (I have heard on yahoo blog) is ill with an eye problem. Have we seen any of April's real grandparents yet (still not quite sure how Dai Smith fits into the picture and if he is one of teh four grandparents). And no uncles and aunts or cousins?

If I am out of order asking that, I am sorry. But I cannot say I am not interested. I cannot remember knowing so little about family of little girl abducted in over 40 years of these very distressing incidents.

I have read the threads and overall it seems that we are all hoping for the same outcome whilst believing the worst.
Still no new news re finding the young child. She must be or have been terrified and who ever is responsible should be severely punished.
My prayers and positive thoughts go to the child, her parents, family, friends, and all those who are working so hard to find her.

I hope they find her soon I'm away over in New Zealand and it is upsetting me no end. What a terrible thing to happen. I live in a very small town and there is children out playing all the time. It never enters my head they are not safe.

Diane Report 5 Oct 2012 00:36

My prayer's for the past few night's are that she is found safe and well.

Just want to say I found some of the post on here were unnecessary and not helpfull for the subject of the thread, what's important is " APRIL's " safe return not ( who's at fault, why this happened, who is who, all speculation until there is any proof.
Who ever has her or took her is the only person to blame, what good at the end of the day do comparison's to other cases do.

Please God she is safe and well is all I am thinking.

Lovely tonight to see all the volunteers. Some have been there since Monday night and still seem to be in good spirits. Absolutely exhausted though, poor things.

One woman went back to work yesterday (Wednesday) but was thinking about April all day and she has taken 2 days off work to get back and help. Aren't people wonderful when something like this happens. :-)
