I prefer Persil non bio liquid, found the powder left residue on dark clothes. I find, if I use the concentrated and use the measure/bottle top it lasts for ages, doesn't need much at all. Only use the drawer for softener but find that clogs it up a bit.

Use liquid for a while but found it often left a residue on the clothes

Now use tablets

My 3 year old grandson like to do the washing but it turn it on with nothing in it. He did wash my best top and now it fits his teddybear, he also like to turn the dishwasher on even if it is empty

I buy Easy washing powder, made by Jeyes, from my local greengrocer.

Less than £1 a box and enough for 13 washes.

No idea how many washes you get out of those large boxes

we use simply pure, what I do is , having an empty container I put a small amount of water in, and then the capsule.........over night, it completely dissolves. and I disperse it straight into the drum, rinsing the container out a few times.....on a 40deg 1hr 10 minute wash everything comes out fine........... before hand putting the capsule in the tray, found it didnt all dissolve properly...........wont use liquid stuff because it can clog up the vent tubes from the drum.......

I buy liquitabs too because Fred does the washing and it is pre-measured for him.

I usually buy the Aldi ones but will buy Fairy if Lidl has it on offer.

I use Fairy or Persil non bio have done for years,,,,,and put it in the drum direct !! always have.,did the same with the liquid version when I gave them a whirl. but prefer the powder......only use the drawers for conditioner.

I always buy the liquitabs from Aldi or Lidl. The y are both recommended by Good Housekeeping, and are pretty cheap, too.

Always buy powder Supermarket's own brand, I too think it washes better. Also like Vim which is getting harder to find.

I like the non bio as well,but buy a named one,not a supermarket brand.
I found that the bio ones made me itch...don't know what they put in it ,but it seemed to be that after elimination.

There are a few regulars on my bus journey who should be encouraged to buy some soap and underarm something or other too.

Mind you, I do not have the courage 'to do the encouraging'!

I buy supermarket own-brand powder when it is on offer and stock up then.
I don't pay as much as £5 a box though.

We watch out for offers for mother-in-law too.
She prefers a particular non-bio well-known brand and the last lot we got on offer was just a little over half her usual price. 3 boxes tucked away at her house now will save her carrying it too.

OH read somewhere that powder gves a better 'wash'.

However, I've found that at least a quarter of it stays in the dispenser drawer :-0
Give me a liquid or a type you put directly in the drum, any day!

Only buy it when its on offer for the giant box so i buy 4at a time but its finding a place to store them. Dont go for the liquid any longer use to much of that. x

Good to see you posting Gwen, was only thinking about you yesterday. I alternate between soap powder and liquid, buy whatever is on offer but but did buy several large boxes of powder when our supermarket closed for refurbishment a couple of years back. I noticed two boxes still in the loft when we went up to get the Christmas decs down.
