We saw those houses on the news. What a terrible mess.

I haven't seen anything about Tassie on the news......... probably the only place in Oz that isn't having horrible weather.

Have a great time with you grandson <3

Scozz we had some horrendous rain on Saturday with strong winds. We were ok but just down the coast at Kiama they had a mini tornado as well as the wind and rain. Houses damaged, roofs ripped off and one house totally destroyed :-( Now people have had to be evacuated because asbestos was found in some of the damaged old houses.

What a shame your time away was spoiled. We're off down to Hobart this weekend for grandson's birthday :-)

HaHa about having a few days away!

We left on Sunday morning (very early, as we took friends to the Gold Coast airport), got them there at 7am (Qld time).

We had booked a place until Friday.

Sunday we did some shopping, went out for a nice dinner.

Monday we looked at the grey sky, didn't look like a good day to go sight-seeing! So we did a bit more shopping. Thought about seeing a movie...... but all that was on at the theatre was bloood & gore, vampires etc.... no thanks. So we went to the pub lol......... had a couple of drinks each, and played the slot machines. MOTH won about $170 and I won about $50 (he put $20 in a machine, I put $5!). Didn't feel like going out in the rain for dinner, so we found a great fish market. Bought scallops, prawns, mussels & fish...... and had a lovely pig-out!

This morning we saw yet another grey sky. Had enough. Didn't see much point in staying there. Furniture at home is more comfortable......... and I've got my computer!

I hope everyone else is OK, and nobody got flooded or blown away

:-D

Oh well....just seen pics of tent flooded in Kangaroo Valley.D.i.l.put them on FB and they had to stay 2 families with children in one tent.
They took kayaks which they couldn't use although she says they could have used them to get in and out of camp..
About to speak to them soon....will hear more I expect.!

Glad that you are all safe.

over in the SW we have had another heatwave. Temps of 38C during the day and not falling below 25C at night, with no breeze.Friday and yesterday were fantasic with the weather cooling down, but temps on the rise again this week. Also a cyclone just of Broome may have an impact on us and increase the humidity, which is already high.

Hey-ho, just another day in Paradise

Hello.
Nice of you to join in Marie,
I looked up Bathurst and note it is the oldest inland settlement town in NSW
Think both sons have been there,or through it.
It looks a very nice place.
Just had my lunch and would you believe it has started to snow...not very much, but we haven't had much here in North Wales, this year the South East and South Wales have had quite a lot.
Hoping it won't stick as Im going to a friends for tea later.
Best wishes
Brenda

Hello Sue Maid , Scozz, & Brenda, I have just popped in for a sticky ,I hope you don't mind , I saw your mention of weather.
I am in Bathurst and we are now just getting the rain from the big depression it started around lunch with a few showers it is now 11.20pm and it has been raining steadly since 6 pm. We have had very little rain in the last month, I am hoping it will fill my new tank.My son-in-law connected it all up about 3 weeks ago, I would love to see it full.

Just realised I was with him last year for his birthday and the weather was lovely.
Treated them to a meal in the Sydney Tower and went on a boat trip round the harbour. He also had a big party in the garden.

Doesn't seem a year ago!

Who knows Scozz? The weather is crazy :-0

Brenda - I'm sure he'll be just fine :-) I've just looked at the forecast for Kangaroo Valley and it's wet but quite warm and no roads closed.

In NSW we have too much rain.

In Victoria, they're hoping for rain, because of bushfires!

The topend has tropical cyclone Rusty to look forward to.

:-(

We'll be in Qld next week for a few days... I wonder what we'll get? Snow?

:-)

Thanks Sue...Ill be prepared for the phone call tomorrow when he complains.

Mind you ,they camp in style these days, son in Melbourne is the rock climber and he just camps in the wild, but this one has all mod cons!

We have had a sunny week although cold East wind, but the spring flowers are coming out nicely.

It'll be wet Brenda as it's only 45 minutes from where I live but he shouldn't get stranded as there are a couple of good roads out of the area.

Oh dear...son from Sydney is away camping at Kangaroo Valley for the weekend.
It was his birthday last Thurs so celebrating with friends...maybe it's Ok there.

I know that Melbourne son is enjoying good weather. :-)

SueMaid Report 23 Feb 2013 07:29

We're ok thanks.

We had a lot of driving rain because of the wind so the gardens and roads are a mess of bark and leaves. A little flooding on roads that we always know are going to flood in this weather but no houses in danger at the moment.

Crazy isn't it? Stay safe <3

Hi Sue

It's been awful for about a week. We saw blue sky today, but more bad weather is expected tomorrow. I hope it doesn't arrive early, we're taking friends to the Gold Coast airport in the morning.

Last night we had another bad storm ~ which OH and I slept through! Got up early this morning (just after dawn) and watched the lightning out at sea. More trees are down, the streets are littered with branches & rubbish.

The golf course (ofcourse) is closed, the bunkers have disappeared, most of them are under water. Many big trees on the course are down.

It's a mess!

Hope you and yours are ok.

Hope you're ok - the weather is dreadful down here but it sounds worse up your way. Take care.
