Member Since: March 2005 Posts: 3,307 Send Message	Good news...baby has been taken off painkillers...still has to have a canula fitted every 2 days with antibiotics.I think for another 2/3 days and then has to have another lumbar puncture to check that there is no bad bacteria in spinal fluid. Parents have asked for her pram to be brought in to take her for a little walk out of the ward. Two of her sisters have been in to see her today and their daddy took them to the playroom afterwards. So it is looking much brighter.

	A little fighter for sure. I am glad Princess is doing so well and hope her good progress will continue. How can the staff not fall in love with such a sweetie? Lizx

Princess is more stable and been taken off the paracetamol she was on ...Still has ibuprofen intravenously and antibiotics,but temperature is OK. Apparently she's the youngest in there now and they're all making a fuss and the nurses love her. She's a little fighter and hasn't stopped feeding throughout...so that's really helped keep her strength up I suppose.

	Things are looking much more hopeful now, don't you think Brenda? I hope little Princess will be strong enough to keep fighting back and will be home with her family very soon. It's strange about the animal link, but maybe the cat doesn't have to have gone near her, one of the family could have touched the cat and then the baby and passed on the bacteria. Let's hope her immune system will get better so she can fight off the day to day things around her. You must feel lots better now, and less worried Lizx

	Grief :-( that's odd isn't it? Keep positive please Brenda, it sounds like they have it under control and have been thorough with their investigations. Be kind to yourself, you must be strung out. Look forward now to the good and not backward to the bad. Sue xx

Seems that it is from an animal,they only have a cat and it hasn't been near her as far as they know. Her temperature is still fluctuating,but has been a bit more aware and they think there was a little smile today. Her mum asked if they had a little bouncy chair so she could feed her in it so she wouldn't disturb her by holding her where she hurts.They said it was a good idea and when daughter got there she was asleep in it It is still serious,but when her temp comes down a bit they will be happier....parents still both staying and the girls are loving being at uncles and they said they can stay as long as necessary .Good job the family all live quite near each other.
