BANG!

CRASH!

What was that???????

Painting fell off the wall in the kitchen (the hook on the back of it broke)...... knocked over a glass jar containing 1kg of chia seeds.

The painting (or the glass) didn't break, it sat nicely on the shelf.

Do you have any idea how far 1kg of seeds can spread?

I think we got them all (and the shattered jar), but with our humid weather, I'm expecting some to sprout in weird places.

:-(

lol Scozz :-)

Make sure you get all the glass!

A couple of weeks ago I knocked a small wine glass off the Kitchen work-bench (fortunately the glass was empty). We immediately picked up the bigger pieces and then vacuumed the floor thoroughly, or so we thought. We are still finding small pieces of glass :-|

Had to google as never heard of Chia seeds :-)

They look pretty small, my guess is you will be finding them in everything for a year and a day :-D

The painting has been fixed and it's back on the wall.

The jar that broke was one of three. The two remaining contain quinoa & bourghal (Lolly, more for you to google :-D ). I'll have to get back to the health-food store for more chia seeds...... and find a new jar!

If I notice grass growing under the fridge.......:-(

Ofcourse the jar that smashed HAD to be the full one :-(

I carefully Googled the two seeds, already know about quinoa.

Know about chia seeds now but not bourghul, HOWEVER, I was directed to Burghal Hidage which I didn't know about and which might be useful to me.

So thank you to whoever it was who pushed your picture off the wall in the night.

Tabouleh / Tabbouli / Tabbouleh

Serves 6

1 cup burghul (cracked wheat)
2 large tomatoes, peeled & chopped
3 tablespoons finely chopped shallots
salt & freshly ground black pepper
1 - 1+1/2 cups finely chopped parsley
1/2 cup finely chopped fresh mint
3-4 tablespoons olive oil
3-4 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

Soak burghul in cold water to cover for about 2 hours. Drain, squeeze out as much water as possible and spread on a clean tea-towel or paper towels to dry.
Put burghul in bowl & add tomatoes & shallots, season with s&p. Add parsley, mint, oil & lemon juice & mix well. Adjust seasoning to taste. Salad should taste fresh & lemony.

Pile in a bowl or serve on lettuce leaves on a flat platter.
