Where does OP mention salt content :-S

I do know about processing methods, have passed examinations on food nutrition.

I just asked for REAL BACON in my bacon sandwich, not like the NO BEEF put into beef pies in Iceland.

Anyway gone off bacon sandwiches now.

How are those Muffins looking Dizzi?

The problem is all the sodium nitrate rammed into the meat.
It keeps the products cheap / profitable.

OTOH naturally cured processed meat will not have this problem but will cost more. There is slight evidence that naturally cured smoked fish and ham have a health risk when eaten in large quantities by very old people. Doesn't seem to bother the Italians and Basques though.

Stay alive and stay away from Cocoa John's supermarket. They have form going back to the 1920s.
