Man who was my Mother's neighbour was "legally blind"....... but he had a driver's license, and got a discount on that, because he was a pensioner!

Don't these government departments talk to each other??

Silly me, ofcourse they don't.

He owns several houses so hopefully the money will be refunded from the sale of those. To sleep through the sentencing is the worst kind of arrogance. I can't see he will learn anything from the sentence, he will just teach others how to scam while inside I expect, and make money from doing so, paid in cigs or whatever.

Horrible man

It isn't easy to make sense out of nonsense jail terms.

The fraudster slept through his sentencing at Harrow Crown Court – and could be heard snoring loudly.

I don't think two and a half years is anywhere near enough when you think he will only serve between 14 and 18 months given the amount of money involved and his total contempt shown whilst being sentenced

A benefits adviser who claimed he was blind and disabled was jailed yesterday after it emerged he fraudulently received £100,000 in handouts :-|
