Oooo ...that took me back some years Missy Island, to when I was 15 .
I used to mix the "Horse Hair" plaster for plasterer to do the ceiling lats and this was followed by the "Pink Thistle" for skimming.
44hr week for just less than £2.50 a wk (£2 pounds 9 shilling and 8pence to be exact.

Good old days... I think not :-P
