there is a house , it's down my street
they call 'The House of Sin'
and it's been the ruin of many a poor girl
who stopped and entered in.

My momma told her daughter
"don't do what I have done
for you will pay a lasting price
while he's just had his fun."

But I looked into his blue eyes
and her words just slipped away
I entered in 'The house of Sin'
and now I have to pay.

So Mommas tell your daughters
not to do what I have done
for the man within 'The house of Sin'
is still looking for his fun.

cruising on through all the crooners
seamless music is my drug
I must buy myself some speakers
so I can move on to the rug
sitting here I cannot boogie
tied by headphones to my chair
I need to go and shake my booty
I just hope there's no one there.

ButtercupFields - I thought Alan Price was great too, then I would wouldn't I. His contribution to the Animals "House of the Rising Sun" was brilliant . I wonder what he is doing now !!!
I also remember Billy Connolly version as well.

I thought that Too GP....

What a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
Oh, what peace we often forfeit,
Oh, what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer!

Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged—
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful,
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness;
Take it to the Lord in prayer.

Are we weak and heavy-laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge—
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,
Thou wilt find a solace there.

Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised
Thou wilt all our burdens bear;
May we ever, Lord, be bringing
All to Thee in earnest prayer.
Soon in glory bright, unclouded,
There will be no need for prayer—
Rapture, praise, and endless worship
Will be our sweet portion there.
