When my husband died I was going through his things and I found this medal with the Lusitania on it, I don't know where he got from and how many there are around.

On the afternoon of 7th May 1915, the Lusitania was torpedoed by a German U-Boat, 11 miles off the southern coast of Ireland. International law at that time stated that
before opening fire on a non-military ship, warships were required to give the crew and passengers time to leave safely. This was not followed in this case and the Lusitania sank in 18 minutes, 1198 people including many children died.
