I remember the day :-)......I was 12yrs old and sister and me ran across the road to a friend's house.
They had television so we all sat on the living room floor our eyes glued to the tiny screen.Of course the picture then was black and white but to us Queen Elizabeth's splendid coach was red and gold :-D

My Nan had the only TV in the street so had a house full.

I was only 3 months old so have no recollections of it.

I had just turned three but can remember the village party we had, we lived in cornwall and the food was set out on tables in a big field, then in the afternoon there was racing on the school field. I was put in for the running race but half way down the field I saw my dad and I turned and ran to him in stead of finishing line.

My husband was a Queens scout and was selling programmes on the route, I still have all the letters telling him all the details makes interesting reading.

I can't remember Coronation day, but I remember brawn sandwiches. My granny used to make brawn - it was delicious. Whatever happened to it?

I don't remember much but i do remember trying my best to woo the young girl in the cricket hut.
She was only interested in brawn sandwiches and jam tarts.

His name was Frankie Swales. I was just a couple of weeks from my 5th birthday, and I think he was about 7

Frankie Swales, if you are out there, do you remember Coronation Day in Wardley Cricket Hut? :-) <3

I had my first kiss on that day. Our street party was rained of, so we had to adjourn to the cricket hut. Our eyes met over the brawn sandwiches and jam tarts. We found a bench in the corner, and gave in to our passion. Time just flew once our lips locked.
My Dad finally broke us up, and my lover vanished.

Does anyone have any special memories of Queen Elizabeth's Coronation Day?
Were you there in the crowds, did your street have a party?
