I have the same model Jude. I put it on one of those trays that have the bean bag effect at the back. It allows for the laptop to have a bit of air space if you rest it on the rim. The fan comes on only occasionally, When I'm too lazy to get up for the tray I end up with fire burns on my thighs. Think perhaps the frame sounds a bit of a safer option. Will look out for one. |

Just had a look on Amazon and there are lots of different ones on there if thats what you are thinking of getting. Various prices depending on the sort you want. not one like mine though :-( ;-) |

No Jude the one I have isn't a cooler it is just a stand ,X shaped. Imagine 2 thin poles about 15" long shaped like an X with tiny legs in each corner ,back 2 a tiny bit higher than front 2. you just put laptop on top of it and it raises it about 1/2 inch at front and 1inch at back so laptop is on a slope. |

The cheap laptop rest I've got doesn't block the vents as it is only a frame shaped like an X . Not very good at explaining it , sorry. |

l took the back cover thingy off but it did'nt work, no fan or similar there, but it does seem abit better since raising it with books. Neighbour is aware of it now so he'll check it out if it happens again. |

Rollo is quite right - it won't and it is not advisable either! |
