You may well remember the band leader Billy Cotton but what may never have occurred to you is the fact that Mick Jagger is the same age as Billy Cotton was when he died.

JustJean Report 24 Jul 2013 12:34

Beggers belief, perhaps the shape of the man .....fat or thin..... ;-) ;-)

Sharron Report 24 Jul 2013 12:36

It could be the youth preserving qualities of things you can put up your nose.

McB Report 24 Jul 2013 20:19

He could put his lips up his nose LOL

UzziWithTears Report 24 Jul 2013 20:28

I remember Billy Cotton and band almost aswell as Jagger and co, one was my youth and one my parents youth played to me.

As for death then ..well they are keeping them on much older than before

Can't imagine Billy Cotton, jigging about like Jagger.
My Mum used to like Billy, but I don't like Mick.
:-D :-D :-D

Mauatthecoast Report 24 Jul 2013 23:12

Billy Cotton didn't move about onstage as much as Mick .......

Wend Report 24 Jul 2013 23:33

You cannot even consider comparing the two of them, surely!

maggiewinchester Report 25 Jul 2013 00:51

I'm intrigued, Sharon - whatever made you think of Billy Cotton?

He looked older than Mick. Mind you, I think people back then looked old at 40!!

When I was little, I thought your hair 'naturally' turned curly as you got older. Now I know it's a lie!!!! :-|

LadyScozz Report 25 Jul 2013 01:51

gawd........ I remember my parents liking Billy Cotton.

I remember the name, but none of the music.

Must go to Googleland or YouTube & have a look.

maggiewinchester Report 25 Jul 2013 21:59

:-D :-D

By 'your' I meant 'one's' or 'ladies'.

Still intrigued about what put Billy Cotton into your mind :-D

Sharron Report 25 Jul 2013 22:13

I think I was thinking about just how old the Stones are and was searching about in my head for somebody who used to be the same age.

Hitler, of course, was much younger when he died so he was no use.

Can you think of somebody to compare to Mick Jagger?

ChrisofWessex Report 25 Jul 2013 22:55

Arthur Askey? I couldn't stand him and if I had found that busy bee I know where I would have put it. He was still prancing around in his seventies.

Bobtanian Report 25 Jul 2013 23:11

Victor..........slow, slow, quick, quick slow........, Silvester

Eric Robinson?

maggiewinchester Report 26 Jul 2013 00:01

Agree with you about Arthur Askey :-|
