OH is lovely and my rock - however for many many years the children and I used to yell 'read the instructions'.

Breakfast today - scrambled eggs on toast with bacon - lovely.
OH complained the wonderful toaster only does one side. He was correct - the other side was still soft and fresh.

This afternoon I was presented with the toaster, having read the instructions, I was able to point out that he had pushed the 'bagel' button what he had to do was push the BIG button all the way down.

The crumpets came out perfect for afternoon tea - Woman Power - still have it :-D :-D :-D

We had one once that had sort of doors on the sides with the hinges at the bottom and you laid the bread on them and closed them.

There was not timer so there was plenty of burned toast, and doesn't it smoke!

I have a neighbour who rarely goes out anywhere, even though she could, and spends her days watching shopping channels.

There are just the two of them in her house but it doesn't stop her buying large cooking appliances which she then tries to unload on to me when she runs out of room. Sometimes she can't even remember what the things do.

That is where my four slice Breville toaster came from.

No - what I have noticed is that two slices can be browned differently whilst toasting the other two on a different setting - now I like my toast crisp - OH like a damp wafer!!!!

Yesterday I decided that I needed a new toaster and tried Sainsburys as I had a year's points.

Decided I would have a DeLonghi 4 slice - reduced from £79.99 to £39.99. Rang our local store to see if they had one in stock - young lady said yes and she would put it aside to be collected this afternoon. I thanked her for her kindness.

Twenty minutes later she rang and said 'your toaster' and I thought she hasn't got one after all - wrong - 'has been further reduced to £19.99!!!

Could not wait for OH to come home with it to see if it was the one I wanted and it was!!

Best bargain I have ever had. :-D
