Morning all :-)

Holiday here too.

Sorry didn't come onto the thread yesterday. Was busy yesterday morning and then found internet problems in the afternoon. Of and on for about an hour, they were obviously working on it. When it came back you could only get sites on the island. The link out off the island from us was in and out then. Got very frustrated with it and gave up. :-|

Hope all ok Dizzi and you've had a better night.

Solrosen, I too love strawberries and have some with breakfast and put some in low fat Greek plain yoghurt for lunch. Local bananas are great but we're coming up to the 3 months when there's none to be had. There's lots of fruit grown here :-D

It will soon be time when I spend most of the day shoeless. :-D. I hate wearing shoes so does OH. In UK, with carpet everywhere, as we came into the house shoes came off and we went around barefoot. Both children did the same so we are a family who prefers to be barefoot. Shoes are a necessary evil as far as I'm concerned.

Daughter bought some shoes for a special occasion last summer. Very delicate, blue suede, they have a smallish heel. She looked lovely in her outfit. She flew out here in November for a holiday and gave me her new shoes. Said she didn't think she'd wear them again. She's mainly in boots. She has several styles and colours of boots. She also has to wear a different boot for work - steel capped and soled and they cost nearly £100. She's a civil engineer so she never knows where she's going to be treading. Recently she's been in and out of ditches as she's doing a road widening project in Northants somewhere. She's also doing a widening scheme near Tamworth but I don't know how that's going.

Solrosen I give you permission to have my share of shoes :-D

My mum didn't appear to like shopping in general and never had many pairs of shoes. Daughter hates shopping although when I was in UK last June I went to see my sister and sister, daughter and myself had a great time shopping for daughter's outfit in Wolverhampton.

It would be a boring world if we were all the same, what would the shoe makers do if they were all like me - they'd be all unemployed. :-S

Went out last night, OH has a back problem and goes off for walks when he's been sat for awhile. On 1 of his walks he saw the Gurkha chef who'd just finished work. He went to talk to him as he could see he was very down. He told OH he'd just heard from Nepal for the 1st time since the earthquake. His father and brother have been killed in the quake. What do you say? :-( We feel so helpless, nature is so cruel at times.

Hope you all have a good day - just had internet dropout again, so posting this and I'll see what happens for the rest of the day. :-) <3

Good Morning all :-)

Well.got my car done for another year... happy with that!
It was raining really hard yesterday evening and today isn't much better... sky not leaking at the moment but we have got dull clouds and damp pavements.

Dizzi, very sorry to hear you didn't have a good night :-( but ... fingers crossed ... tonight could be different :-) <3
How are the builders next door getting along? hope they are not banging too much
but from what you said before, they seem considerate.

Just thinking Pat..... can you imagine me eating my breakfast outside at this moment :-0 talk about soggy toast :-D :-D
And I luurvve strawberries .... can eat them until they come out of my ears! :-D
I have been berry picking here, mainly for lingonberry ...I felt it next day though! The lingon grows low down and my back was getting exercise it hadn't done for a long time :-D .... I go the shops now :-D

You and I differ when it comes to our feet! I love shoes... my weakness... any type... boots, sandals, slippers and clogs... any !! Think I got it from my Mum :-D

Anyway, going to get some housework sorted..... 'bye for now :-) <3

Morning all :-)

Breakfast outside again, it's 27 C :-D. Yesterday afternoon we went shopping and car was registering 31 C.

Strawberries are wonderful at the moment, the glut is about to happen now the weather has changed. The price at the moment is about £3.60 a kilo but it'll go down when the warmth brings on the plants. We get strawberries until the end of Wimbledon. They start at Christmas so it's a 6 month season. :-) Cherries next :-D.

Hope your cold spell finishes soon.

We did our food shopping yesterday and then decided to go out for a Chinese last night. Spoke to the Gurkha chef. He hasn't been able to contact family or friends in Nepal. Everyone who went last night made a point of speaking to him and wishing that everyone he knew were safe. He seemed very moved that we all did this. He looked very tired and drained. His son is safe as he's in the Gurkhas and he is stationed here at the moment.

Enjoy your shopping Dizzi - if you're like me you hate it. I don't like any type of shopping and hate shoes and only if I'm out alone have my 1 and only handbag with me. I'm an advertiser's nightmare. :-D

Take care all :-) <3

Morning all :-)

Breakfast outside today. Clear day, good view of the Med. First time this year opened patio doors and warm air greeted me. It's 27 C and I think after last week's snow - it's spring :-D :-D :-D

Solrosen, have known OH get car out of the carport into the pouring rain to help clean it when it's been splashed with orange. You sweep up on surfaces that can take it but washing away is best. We often wait a few days as there is usually a couple of storms after the dust/sand. We are careful with water as up to recently the only water was from the sky, stored in dams. We now have several desalination plants. Our village is not connected to the water mains from the dams as we have bore holes that supply us.

Glad things went well Dizzi :-D. With the poncho and hat do you need spurs? DO NOT GO ROUND WITH A SIXSHOOTER ;-)

All have a good day :-)

'Morning all :-D

I hope you were pleased with the way your doctor and hospital appointments went, Dizzi - I read your other post. What did you think of my poncho idea? and specifically Pats addition of the cowboy hat?? ;-)
If you don't fancy the stagecoach idea and want to try sidesaddle.. and if you need a leg-up getting on, give one of us a shout and we'll be right there !! :-D

Pat... those orange spots must be a problem to get rid of ...thats if you can. What do you do? Do you need to wet it again so it doesn't scratch.... say, your car paint?

I'm off out to do some shopping soon .... I need to buy a couple of birthday cards, so I might pick up a few things while I am there. Don't know whether to walk or take the car (I'm only going local) ..... I'll keep an eye on the weather until I'm ready to leave.

Have a nice day - to everyone who pops in ...... :-) <3

Morning all :-).

Do you want to borrow my BP machine, need it back this evening though :-D.

Where did you normally take your BP and search that area. Keep mine in the kitchen/ dining area.

22 C but cool breeze, hazy sun, think it's dust/sand from Africa/Sahara. If it rains we get orange spots everywhere. EU in their wisdom has said the air is polluted when we have this problem and as Cyprus hasn't reduced the pollution they've been fined :-(. How do you stop dust and Sahara sand invading your air and polluting it :-S.

Hope all well at docs and hospital Dizzi, keep warm. Get a cowboy hat to go with a poncho and you'll look really cool riding your stage coach - Calamity Jane 2. :-D
