we know that lily esther martin was born at 14 nursery cottages in 1909 she married george stanley d hurst,they lived in gosport road walthamstow,george died in 1979 and lily died in maidestone in 1988,if anyone knows anything more about lily and george we would love to hear from you many thanks stephen marden (martin former family name)

Not the only way Syvlia, we have lots of old families from E.17 who have rellies still in the area, like me.

Jax it's Walthamstow Life. Edit: but your group is great too :-)

We had a meeting today re our WW1 research and the memories of family members, their photographs and documents are a wealth of information that's not available on the www.

The only problem we have is winkling out old photographs because people don't put any importance on them :-( However, once one is posted then heaps of family members appear or are telephoned and the stories build up and up :-D We are able to add names to group photographs by members asking their parents and grandparents...lolol
